i was cutting fabric for 3 quilts all at the same time... the pear tree quilt (greens & golds) my friend anne's wallhanging, (greens, golds, reds, purples,) and some flying geese in all the above and whatever else struck my fancy out of the scrap buckets....

i cut for a couple evenings after work and had all 3 cut out....it was so easy to get them all cut at the same time. i just had to make sure each one went into the proper bucket..

Ditto! I made Eleanor Burns Quilt In A Day log cabin blocks as curtains for my DH's office windows. I had made so much blocks that I ended up with four extra quilts (twin, twin extra long, double, and a double long). Math is not my strong suit. When I diverge from the pattern something like this usually happens.

I was making a Bowtie 9 Patch Square in a Square with no pattern...ended up with enough Bowtie 9 Patches to make 2 queen size quilts! First one is done done, second one is waiting on borders! I'm so glad someone else does this too. I guess if I stuck to patterns I would not have so many left over blocks, but that's no fun <grin>

Yes, I have. It's fun to cut all my scraps into different size blocks and strips. Then all of a sudden, I start to create.

I don't cut until I have to, as this causes me a great deal of pain. God bless. Penny

Cutting creates a misery for me as well. I have a darling friend who bought me a pair of scissors that you squeeze together instead of pull the blades apart. I love it. She said she got them at JoAnn's. I don't mind cutting small stuff, but I hate strips. Always need strips and hate to cut them. I have such a small area inwhich to work that I'm crowded for laying things out on a large table. But, I'm trying.

    Blessings,
    Ruth

I misread a pattern one time and cut full width strips. The pattern was cutting only half strips from fat quarters so when I started sewing it took forever. I had all of the strips sew together before realizing what I had done.Had enough to make a queen and 2 twins.
