I watched a demo and had to have one, I didn't want to carry the long ruler around until I got ready to go and of course forgot to go back and buy it! I guess I'll have to order it online. It's so simple, one of the why didn't I think of that tools. I know most rulers will cut bias but this is a no brain needed ruler.

I have one considerably wider and shorter than that - not sure where it is right now, so not sure of the maker

That looks like a great ruler. I may need to get one on line too.

ShemJo, the demo was at the Finkle Building downtown where the book sale was. There were about 20 vendors set up and I liked their stuff better than the show vendors. Better prices too.

I never left the building! One of the drawbacks of taking the bus is that you do worry about being back in time to go back home. :?

a long multi-purpose ruler with a 45 degree line will work just as well. better, in fact, because it would offer more width options.

i know you can get rotary rulers that are 36" x 4" because i have one. it cost less than $20 (although i haven't checked the price lately.)

A long ruler would't have the angles cut at both ends or be 2 1/2 inch wide. I have several long rulers one is 36" by 4". It takes some fiddling to get it lined up to cut bias strips. I tried it.
