Our guild had our Christmas party the first Friday of December. Each member brought 1 yard of fabric, could have been 4 fat quarters, etc. in a brown paper bag then played a game passing the bags around until you ended up with a yard of fabric. Fun game.

One of my guilds had theirs last week. We all draw names in January each year (optional of course) and everyone tries to give something homemade, table runner, pot holders, wall hanging, maybe some fabric or notions
My Secret Santa Sister made this for me! Aren't I the lucky one?? Sharon K is so sweet! I love it!!

ours had a catered dinner in a lake resort, a challenge quilt contest results (you have a yearly challenge), an ornament exchange/gift exchange, gifts to pass out if you want to and installation of new officers. rather exhausting and some fun.

We had ours a couple of weeks ago. It includes a pot luck and an auction of items that members donate to...mostly quilt related items no longer wanted but in very good conditions. We had about 75 members and we made about $2300 which goes for next years programs. The auctioneer does it voluntarily for cookies and quick breads!! Tables were decorated and prizes awarded for the best. And every month we have door prizes.

we have a potluck dinner and a time of fellowship. we eat, laugh and enjoy each other's company. some bring gifts for everyone, some don't...it's not a requirement. we just enjoy being together. after dinner we go on winter break and come back together in mid-January.

First time I have seen a number connected to charity quilts. Our guild has about 60 members and our charity quilt number for the 2010 year stands at 316. I can only say that we have a great motivator for a chairperson. (no, it's not me!) We are hoping to do as well in 2011. Our primary recipient is Child Protective Services and the Veteran's Home is our secondary.
