Our guild had a potluck and Chinese gift exchange - except we did potholders! They were supposed to be hand-made. The board set up 12 tables of 8 (yes, we are small town with a large wonderful guild of which I am the new president). Each table had a big card with a letter of the alphabet on it. When guests signed in, they drew for a number - A-1, B-2, etc. They sat at the letter table and the number stood for the number on the gifts. The gifts were numbered 1-8 on each table. That way, each lady could see the person's reaction to receiving her gift. At first, people were upset because they couldn't sit with their usual group but in the end, it was great because it made them visit with the other ladies at their table.

Very nice story and so true. I'm going to think about making some gifts for Christmas next year. I already have some ideas and it will be fun and if I start after these holidays it won't be rushed - lets hope.

This year the Westmount Quilters Guild gave their challenge quilts to the Grannies Supporting African Grannies who auctioned them, and sent the money for food to the grannies in Africa. We all had a great party around the usual table were we quilt and work. It was great, I love the cause!

I don't have a guild but do meet at a local elementry school during the year with my quilting friends and one of the ladies always bakes a lemon pound cake and brings in soda.

We used this story about the Wrights today at our guild party. Every time they said right or left each table had a gift and we passed it left and right until the end of the story. Who ever was holding the gift got to keep it.

We have a Pot luck lunch and gift exchange. I was disapointed that the party was over in a little less than two hours.

My guild has a wonderful potluck and just a short meeting so everyone can visit and relax. I could not go because I was in the hospital having neck surgery. It's the first one I've missed since I moved to this area. Guilds are the perfect place to exchange ideas and make friends.

Had a pot luck dinner too and oh there was so much good food But the deserrts were oh so Goood especially this one it looked like a huge brownie it has like a fudge top then marshmallow then brownie mmm and it was big and I ate 2 of them. LOL . After that we had show and tell and exchange of gifts. We pick numbers and then go and get the gift with that # on it. I really enjoyed it and was alot of fun.
