    Default anyone have quilting dreams?

I quilt in my dreams. Patterns will come to me sometimes. I have a notebook by my bedside so I can sketch out what I dreamed.

My most wierd dream I had was after I had watched Will Smith's "I Am Legend" the end of the world with the virus that turned most everyone into weird vampire/zombie type things. At the end a car is heading towards some other group that has survived.

I dreamed that I went from fabric store to fabric store stocking up on LQS quality fabric, batting and supplies and I think I spent the entire night trying to figure out which vehicle would hold the most quilting supplies and how I'd pack it to get the most stuff in. Where the sewing machine would be most protected and if the window was opened could I get 2 or 3 rolls of batting? Did I want open windows? Hey, everyone else is a vampire the quilting world is my oyster right? It was so strange that I still remember it.

Anyone else dream quilts? Ok, maybe not zombie apocalypses....

Only when I am having a problem! Like if the thread and machine want to do their own thing and don't want me in control. Of if I can't find something I just had!!

I dream designs. When I have an idea for a quilt I have a mind whirling in ideas and pictures and at night they seem to move around and fall in place . I take a mental picture for the next day. Ps I never draw the design it is always from memory.

When I first started quilting ... without aid of classes or books or anything, I was trying to figure out on my own the difference in size between two squares that I would cut to make a square of HST's and the size of the finished square made up of the HST's. I struggled and struggled with limited fabric. Went to bed and in the middle of the night I woke up, sat bolt upright and loudly proclaimed "SEVEN EIGHTS!!!". Scared the wits out of my sleeping husband.

I often go to sleep thinking about quilting. Planning and figuring out how to get what I'm going for tends to be what ny brain does. Even when I'm not in front of my machine I'm quilting. No matter where I am quilting is on my mind in some form or another.

Yes for me too, I often dream of the way I want a top to look if I'm kind of stumped on it. I get up the next day and draw it out on a piece of paper.

To be serious though, I think a lot of us have quilty / quilt related dreams.... after all, dreams are often where we sort out our daily life.
