I want to make a tree skirt this year but I want it to be super simple. Hubby is sick of all of my quilts so I want to just cut this gorgeous fabric I have into a circle or sort of and quilt it...any suggestions on how to get a shape?

I bought prequilted Christmas fabric double sided, folded in half and made a semi circle and cut it out. It is about 18" wide and then I just turned over the edges and hemmed it down. This way you can cover the stand and have some left for the gifts.

The pattern I am trying to make is not working yet, but here is an easy one:

The one I made I just took a square of burgandy velvet and a matching size square of shimmery Christmas plaid and cut the two of them into a circle, cut one side half way to the middle and cut a small circle in the center for the tree trunk, added gold trim around the outer edge of the circle (stitched into the seam so it would show whichever side was up) and that's it. I did not quilt mine, as I made it before I started quilting. Took maybe an hour or so.
