We have a Ben Franklin store nearby.

    What's your question?

Wow...they are still around?!?!? Such memories when I was little. Are they up north still?

How interesting. Just yesterday I asked a cousin in Virginia if the old Ben Franklin was still in Woodstock. It is! She went on to say, they still have a Wal-Mart with a fabric department.

I found a Ben Franklin about 20 miles West of Cincinnati, about a year ago.
I phoned to ask if they carried fabrics and when assured that they did, I made plans to stop by the store. I could not find the store as such, but it was inside a Drug Store and they had all of about 50 bolts of fabric. It is not currently on the list (location finder - on their web site) so my guess is it is also gone. Those were the days!!

Anyone heard anything new about Wal-Mart? Every once in a while we hear that a new store has opened and carries fabrics. Who would have known that the "pre-cut fabrics" they were talking about would be Jelly rolls and such from poor quality fabrics? I was in one in WV and I would not want to sew with the fabrics they were offering.

Hope everyone is keeping busy sewing up their stash.

    June in Cincinnati

The issue is that I am looking for this fabric and the shipping on the site is 150% of the purchase price. I hate to be gouged by shipping. I have contacted two stores (thank you Deara) and neither of them had it. I am wondering if it is only available on the web site.

I am making a lap quilt for a friend that is a Geometry teacher. If you have any ideas Please let me know.
