minkie is not difficult to work with- just be sure to 'smooth' not stretch it. when my friend (who uses her serger more often then her sewing machine) worked with minkie she did not use her cutter----the cut edge sheds like crazy! so creates quite a mess. generally if I have to cut minkie (I usually use it for backings & buy what I need to avoid having to cut it) when I get it I take it outside & shake it a lot to (clean up) that cut edge before taking it into the house- a lint roller helps- but cut edges do shed a lot- other than the shedding it really is not challenging- and easier with a serger than a sewing machine- since sergers are so good with knit fabrics.
