    I use this:

I can keep both my machines threaded.

Thanks for the wonderful tips! I had bought some cone thread a while back. I have just been using my old spools and winding it by hand. Now I have some good ideas.

What I'm looking for is a way to use my large cone thread thread on my verticle stand on my machine. The cones wabble.

i posted a picture above, of a thread spool shoved inside the cone, you have to file the top of the spool down a bit, to give it a tighter fit..but my friend uses the verticle spool holder on her janome gem with no problem, no wobbling.

I tried that but the cone wabbles. Some of my cones are the size of serger cones, tall.

i will see veronica tomorrow are quilt group, i will take the spool out and see what is different about it. maybe you need to do it the same way, but fabricate the thread holder, a longer dowel,in place of what you have on thier now?

I have used all kinds of holders for my thread, never really liked any of them. Always getting tangled or falling over or something. Now I fill my bobbins and put them in the rubber donut. Use one in the bobbin and the other one on top. I fill a dozen at a time because sometimes I spend most of the day sewing. When the top runs out I replace the bobbin thread and use the remainder on top. I find out that you use a little over two tops to one bobbin. This works great, especially when you are quilting. You can plan you stops rather than running out of bobbin thread in a place where it shows.

I bought a deelybob put don't use it. I bought my Juki shortly after and the thread spool doesn't turn, it just sits there.
