I am hand appliqueing my Baltimore Album quilt. I prefer the freezer paper, then the overlays.

I bought some and used it just once. I fell in love with it. It was, so far, the best glue that I've ever used. I will probably buy it again. It didn't leave the fabric all stiff like another kind I tried did and it really does clean up easily. Loved how small of a dot it leaves so you can control how much you use.

The hawaiian class I took we used this to glue down rather than baste down the applique. It saved hours and hours of basting and worked great.

One tip put a pin or keep covered when not using if the tip gets clogged you have a mess.

Woah! I just used the spray basting glue on my cats. That stuff gets STICKY quickly!!!!!!!!!!

It also isn't the easiest to quickly get off your hands. :)

I love to applique and have been learning over the last year, I have a friend that does beautiful work, she said learn about all the techniques and then take what works best for you, great advise, I did buy the dvd from piece o cake designs and like their method the best and use most of what I learned from that.

But any new tips I can get are greatly appreciated.

I think that I will do the heart but not make it into a pot holder. I can use the practice. I will still do the kittens but I also pulled out a block of the month that I had picked up from JoAnne's. I'm not doing the whole quilt but did kinda like how this one block looked. Since it was a block of the month it also had the fabric in it.

Wish me luck. Perhaps I will chronicle my journey on getting it done.
