Do yourself an inexpensive, and effective favor and buy a roll of parchment paper. Yes, before I knew better, I bought an expensive pressing sheet; overrated, and overpriced. Your garden variety parchment paper from the grocery store does the same job. Trust me on this! :-)

I like using my teflon pressing sheet - have had it for a long time - very handy to have and protects my iron and board and easy to use. Mine is tan in colour and I just saw that there are some available that are transluscent and you can see thru them. I'm on the search for one because it would be very helpful when layering different applique pieces together into one unit and not have to keep flipping over to see how it is lining up before fusing together. I asked at our LQS but they only had the tan ones. I think the slightly clear ones would make the job easier and faster.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice. I will be using my Steam a Seam2 to do the applique.
I had a 60% off coupon at JoAnn's so I ran down there yesterday to buy the applique pressing sheet (since I had the coupon); however, JoAnn's does not carry it in-store.

So that solved my problem!
I went to the local grocery store and bought some parchment paper.

I'll try that, Geri! Never heard of it, but we have lots of baking parchment.
I have a couple of good sized pieces of the backing paper from Heat'n'Bond that I use instead of buying an expensive Teflon sheet, and a small pink sheet of something that came with Stitch Witchery years ago.

any thin piece of cotton will work. I bought the pressing cloth and that's exactly what it looks like.
