Ditto on the parchment paper, inexpensive, a roll lasts a good long while. You can also find it in the cake decorating section at Wal-mart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, costs more, but go to the groccery section with the foil, plastic wrap, waxed paper, etc. Another thought: someone on this board, sorry, I don't remember who, also suggested using the parchment paper on the bed of your sewing machine when free motion quilting. Just cut it to fit, I used a little stencil adhesive to keep it in place and wow, it works!

The adhesive does not stick to this paper where it does the teflon sheets. Put a sheet down over the area on your ironing board and use another over the material when you press the adhesive on. I have used the same two sheets for months and one has a slight scortch mark. I never use the teflon anymore. So much cheaper.

Me too!!
Same here - I think mine is a vinyl-like sheet.

I always use parchment paper when fusing appliques. It is very inexpensive at the grocery store and you can use the roll of parchment to line your baking pans, too. I get a medium size sheet of the paper and fold it in half and place my applique inside to make sure nothing sticks to either the ironing board cover or the iron. Good Luck in the future. :)

As I have ruined more than one cover I now place a sheet of baking parchment on the board and another piece on top of what ever I am working on .This saves the bottom of my iron. Works just fine .

You need a tephlon pressing sheet. If you put it under what you are fusing it will not stick to your ironing board. You can also sandwich the applique between the folded sheet. Hope this helps. ( cantspell it but its non stick)
