I have Wonder Under and iron it on to fuse the pieces onto my quilt top. But is there a secret to the inital ironing it on the back of the pieces? I have sticky stuff all over my ironing board. Do you put a scrap cloth that you can throw away, or how do I do this "cleanly" Thanks !!

I just bought a "Goddess Sheet" for this exact purpose. I was tired of putting on new ironing board covers and found this at "ihaveanotion.com". Works beautifully. I bought the big one.

You know when you have double paper backed adhesive, you can either cut out your shapes and then fuse them, I fused an entire page to a piece of fabric then used those backing pages as my pressing cloth type thing.

I purchased two (expensive) teflon sheets for fusing appliques and was very happy with them until I used the cookie sheet baking liner paper that you get in the supermarket. The adhesive does not stick to this paper where it does the teflon sheets. Put a sheet down over the area on your ironing board and use another over the material when you press the adhesive on. I have used the same two sheets for months and one has a slight scortch mark. I never use the teflon anymore. So much cheaper.

i iron my fusible on first and then cut the shapes out.
i also use the cookie sheet liner paper when i need to build up a fusible design before fusing it to the background fabric.
as previously stated the cookie liner is much cheaper then the applique pressing sheets on the market.
