    Default Applique tutorials

I am at the stage of my quilting career that I would now like to tackle an applique quilt. Because I am kinda fussy, before I even attempt to do this however, I would love to look at a few tutorials on line. As I still work full time I have been unable to find anywhere to do a class out of work hours so figured that this might give me some tips before I start. I thought a child's quilt would be the perfect beginners piece. Would appreciate any feedback you can give me .
    Cheers

What type of applique, needleturn applique or machine applique

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vKcyymFkyk This shows you the different types so you can then find the right information for the style you want to try.
    I love applique especially needleturn,

Erin Russek's blog is one of my favorites, she does gorgeous applique. She has very good, clear pictures showing how to do each step. This is a link to all of her posts listed in her "applique lessons" category. She also offers free patterns to practice on.

Silver Needle gave you a great link, I too am a Erin Russek fan. So heres a couple more sites for different applique techniques. http://www.generations-quilt-pattern...-applique.html This one is for invisible machine applique. And this one is for fusible machine applique http://ivoryspring.wordpress.com/201...ible-applique/ If you scroll down on the righthand side you'll find she has several other tutes.

Thanks, Carol, for asking that question. I so enjoyed seeing Erin Russek's video! I had always glued everything down before I started sewing and wondered if I should just do one thing at a time. Now, I see that it is OK to do that. A tutorial that I watched when I started was Jennifer Bosworth's at www.youtube.com/ShabbyFabricsUniv

I forgot to add, you need to scroll down to Jennifer's applique videos. There are some quilting videos first. She has 8 applique videos. They are not listed in order; but it is better to start with 1 and go through the series.
