Let me ask you all what kind of thread do you use when you are quilting or embroidering? Some times my machine will not be good so have to figure out what is causing it to skip stitches.

Will check back for what ever help you can give to me.

    The quilt is beautiful.

Depends on the applique I'm working on. 95% of the time the dogs are up and going around small curves I slow way down and do a lot of foot lifting.

    thanks for the information
feed dogs are up. you need this to move the fabric along. it also helps to loosen the top tension & with satin-stitching, to use a stabilizer underneath. you may think stabilizer an extra expense, but it is well worth it for the pretty stitching you get,

I leave them up, and I also leave them up for FMQ as I feel I have better control. Just a personal thing I guess.

UP when you are doing appliques.... you need the fabric to feed . With the feed dogs down you have to move the fabric yourself....
