Yikes. I had a "disagreement" with my artist husband over something like this. I caught him eating cereal RIGHT OVER my Singer Featherweight and the project I was working on at the time. I gently asked (or maybe screamed...it's hard to remember at the moment) that he eat somewhere else, and he basically said:

"Why? I'm not going to spill."

To which I had to remind him that he would hate it if I ate food over his sketchbooks or his Wacom Tablet. He finally conceded the point that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't worth tempting fate near something that was so important to me.

The fact that you pointed out that he wouldn't want you doing the same thing over his "art" made a good point. I have the no food/drink in my sewing room or around computers.

Why not dye them all in tea to match the first ones?

    THANK YOU ALL!!

Glad you saved them! If not going into this quilt, you could at least use the four blocks to make your DD a little quilt of her own :-) (or maybe she could do it herself...a sort of "reminder to be careful" quilt)

Sorry to hear......that is why they are called "accidents". Good thing you had the majority of the blocks set aside. Hopefully you have enough fabric to redo the damaged block pieces. Good luck and hugs to you and your DD, who I am sure feels awful about it.
