Art Quilters?
#12
There don't seem to be very many art quilters on this board. That's okay. There is a Modern Quilt Guild and an art quilt quild (SAQG?) in Portland where I can get feedback. Haven't joined the art quild yet but will in January.
Haven't figured out how to post photos yet or some of my works would be available. happy quilting whatever you do.

One or two art quilts
I have many but will start with these.
There are no rules for quilts, art quilts or bags - all of them can be made up as you go- the making up is part of the process. The one I got out to work on tonight has been sitting around not done for about 5 years now. While working on it I was thinking how much more interesting it is going to be since I have learned so much more in the last 5 months, let alone the last 5 years.

I've played with art quilting and myself couldn't find anyone that had the same interest. Had a small group for awhile but "our teacher" an art teacher at that never had us do anything but make inches and dye fabric. Which got boring. My problem is a jumping off point. How to get my ideas down in different mediums and flow with it. I'm stuck in the middle and have no where to go!!

I'm specifically interested in finding out who among our Quilting Board Members are actively creating 'Art Quilts'? What mediums do you incorporate into your quilts besides fabric? Share with us how and when you started making art quilts. Definitely show us some of your work!

In the few art quilts I've made, I have used photos developed on fabric and I have used glass beads. I very recently finished one with quite a bit of beading on it, I'll have to take some photos.
These photos have been posted before, sorry for the re-runs!
