Attaching borders
When you attach borders, do you press them toward the outside or inside?
I press mine to the outside but recently read they should be pressed toward the inside of the quilt but it didn't say why.
So, how do you press borders?
Thanks,
Joan

Do whatever works for your quilt. If you had a one fabric inner border and then piano key (or heavily pieced) outer border, I would press toward the center. Usually I press out because it is usually less bulky.

I press sashings and borders to the dark side if needed. Sometimes I press to the side of least resistance if I have a lot of seams going one way. I like a nice flat top so whatever achieves that, is the way I press my seams.
