Default Attic Ribbons Quilt Pattern by Janet Wickell online

I'm wondering if I could have a similar visual impact by using more black in the upper left corner and lower right corner of this quilt, or if that would spoil the quilt's beauty. I was thinking of making my quilt more symmetrical.

I noticed right away on the picture that the black ribbon wasn't carried thru in these two corners. I think it looks like it is a mistake. I would do the black!

I would also use different shades of black in the uprights and horizontals, and follow the same pattern through every other diagonal.

Totally agree with the different shades of black! But maybe the same black being used is the "Ribbon" part of this pattern?

Thanks for your input! I will take the advice given and add more windows in the corners. Today I ordered gray/grey fabrics since the fabrics seen through the windows are white or ivory; it seemed that black framing would be too dark. Hopefully there will be enough contrast between the three shades/texture to allow the ribbons to stand out enough.

My "window" frame fabric is already on the way, along with a new color card! Kudos to Hawthorne Threads for such prompt service.
