After reading all the posts so far, I think PaperPrincess has the best idea. That way all the blocks are the same. You just turn them to facing right or left, and the sashing puts it all together.

It looks like there are 2 squares of 15x15. Square #1 is 15x15 of the 1" scrappy squares, with a purple square at the center of each side. Square #2 a 15x15 combination of white 1" squares ( the center) and scrappy 1" squares around the white. The green 1" are the center of all sides. When you put one of each together, then the purple centers of square #1 would match the green center squares of block #2. If I knew how to do the drawing thingy on the quilt picture it would be better.

Hello, does anyone know if there's a pattern for this around?
http://www.quiltindex.org/basicdispl...?kid=51-8C-1BF
I can deconstruct it enough to figure out how to make it but I can't get it down to a block, I still have strips in between. Would love some help! Thanks!
I think I have figured a way to go about it. Here's a pic if anyone's interested. Also THANK YOU!! for all ideas/suggestions. I am using 1.5' precut pieces so want to be sure I'm not getting in over my head! Looking forward to starting this. Still not sure how big it will be.[/

When I look at the pictures of your quilt, there are a couple areas that are standing out, which makes me wonder if you are not seeing the actual square blocks yet. I think that the white areas are the center of one block, with a completely scrappy block in between them, look at the picture and see if you see it also?

If I were going about it, I'd use the Around the World pattern:
http://delawarequilts.com/Projects/Y...ndTheWorld.pdf
and then I'd have several white strips added to the end of the strips making the tube. I actually think the individual block you've isolated is two pieces...or maybe one set of tubes cut and then reassembled...I'm probably not making sense, but see if the link helps you at all...
