https://www.tristan.bc.ca/ I just got an order a few weeks ago for Aurifil, I bought light colours for piecing at $3.00 a spool. I think the company is reducing or clearing their line of this thread for another brand.

The Genziana Cotton Mako cost a little more then the Aurifil on the website but I think it's because the Aurifil is being sold cheaper to get it out of the warehouse. I have giant spools of the Aurifil neutral colors when the site first put all the Aurifil on clearance some years ago. I can remember when Aurifil was first introduced to the US at quilt market. It was on QNTV online. I thought that sounds like great thread so I started searching online for a distributor and found the Tristan site.

I, too, thought any old thread would do before Aurifil. No more broken thread, lint accumulation not as significant. Wonderful product.

Having paid for two daughters in different colleges the same time has immunized DH and me from sticker shock ever again. Nothing I buy for quilting can come close to matching that. LOL

I buy mine either at the local quilt shop or online @ www.redrockthreads.com. Its $10.95 for the 1422 yd spool. Its great thread, I've become a thread snob. haha

I love and have many brands of thread but the three I use all the time are Aurifil, Connecting Threads Pro, and Glide. I use Superior pre filled bobbins and Glide Magna Delights pre filled.

    I've posted this before:

Aurifil, when you do the math on the amount of thread you get on a spool, is not one of the expensive threads. Mettler and Gutermann both come in almost twice as expensive.

Exactly! Too many let sticker shock take over without thinking about what they are actually buying.

    I've gotten mine from Ebay.
