A friend at church yesterday gave me a book she had purchased in Australia several years ago. She said she would never make the quilt blocks and gave the book to me.

There are 10 beautiful patchwork Block designs for Australian Wildflowers. She also has a magazine article regarding the lady who did the book. There are instructions, full size patterns, etc. for the entire 10 blocks. The 10 blocks are each 12" finished.

I know you can't share copyrited material, but there's an address in the book where you can write for a copy. (It was copyrited in 1983, so I don't know if it would still be available or not). If it is, I know some of you would be happy to get a copy.

The address listed for additional copies of this booklet with more than 30 pages is: Margaret Rolfe, 84 Morgan Cresent, Cutrin, A.C.T. 2605. Australia

You might be able to do research and find more about this book. I am anxious to start the quilt, but I have to learn how to match points a little better first. It looks easy.

I have had a book on Australain patchwork since 1985. It is called Australian Patchwork.. by Margaret Rolfe, it is fabulous, has native birds, flowers with the odd fish or two. I have made several things from it, It is mainly applique.

Margaret Rolf's books come up from time to time on Australian eBay. I just did a quick search and got 7 matches. Someone on the board made her Australian native animals quilt and it was just lovely.

This is a softcover booklet with 30 pages which includes the names of the 10 Wildflowers, explaining the colors of the flowers. The instructions give the colors to use for each flower. I started the first one, but am having some difficulty getting the points to match. I haven't worked much with points so I will have to do some practice and research first.

I did an e-search after posting the message and found that this booklet is no longer available.

Looks like she has a website also. Though I don't see any of the wildflower books on her site.

    Cheers, K

Here is a copy of the back cover of the pattern book. They are all in black and white so may not be too clear.
