    go to one size bigger needle. I had that problem and did that and went to top stich neddles

    I think I may have broken mine. I used to use it ALL the time, but lately I can't seem to get the thread to hook & pull through. So, I gave up and now thread the needle myself. Someone told me that the automatic threaders are like the lighters on gas grills...eventually they quit working.

    I had lots of problems getting mine to work on my Viking Designer I. Then I did 2 things: manually moved the wheel to put the needle in the highest position and loosened my grasp on my thread and now no problems; threads every time! Yeah because I was really getting tired of replacing those little wire needle threaders. Sometimes its the smallest stuff that makes the biggest difference.

    it depends on which machine I am using. the one in my sewing room I use the threader all the time, the one I take to class doesn't work very well

    I really liked the threader on my Brother, but it doesn't work at all anymore. It seems as if the tiny hook has somehow been smoothed over, filed down, or something like that; it just won't hook anymore, and believe me, I have tried and tried!
