I depend on mine fully!! Mine gets it right 99.99% of the time, and if it doesn't, it's because I got it wrong. That and the thread cutter. Couldn't live without them.

I did have a Janome loaner, and that threaded was very very picky.

The little wire that pulls the thread thru might be bent and not hitting the eye of the needle. I had to work on mine to get it to work.

At my age, I couldn't live without the threader!

I had to take my Babylock to the dealer and have the automatic threader adjusted. I was doing everything correctly; it needed adjustment. It works wonderfully now. The one on my Brother 2500 works like a dream. I can't seem the darn holes in the needles anymore - bought the machines because of the automatic threaders more than any other feature!

All the time, I also use the automatic thread cutter! Told my DH I was spoiled by using both.

I use mine on my Bernina. The only problem I have had was my needle was not positioned just right, I just hit my up button, and it worked. Once you get the hang of it, you won't want to be without it.

Take your needle out and put it back in making sure you have it in there correctly. Or try changing to a different needle. I could not get mine to work once, the problem was the new needle's eye was a bit lower then normal. Not sure why.

I have it on my Bernina and my Brother and love it. With it was on my HQ. The older you get the harder it is to see what your are doing.

Make sure the take up lever is in it's most up right position before trying to use the threader. On my Bernina, you just hit the button. Does your machine have a button? If the needle eye is not in the exact position it will not thread and you can damage the threader or the wire.
