My dg is pregnant due in Dec.
She sent me 4 old baby blankets of hers and wants me to make a new one out of these. They are made out of that woven fabric that resembles thermal blankets . They are very well used . My question is how to use these in a quilt. I will have to back the fabric with something. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would get a coordinating flannel and choose a simple pattern, like square in square or rail fence. Use the least worn parts of the blankets. Make sure you pre wash the flannel until it stops shrinking. I guess the bottom line is that you can mix the blanket fabric with something else to make the quilt.

Be careful not to have a lot of seams intersect. Language not pretty with bulky fabric.

Could you use them inside a quilt, like the batt? I did that with a quillow that was beyond repair for my DD...she just couldn't give up the "smell" of her old quillow.

Very good idea. Square in a Square would be perfect for this project and mixing with flannel! perfect!
