I would like to try & make aCree Moss Bag for a baby, but I can't seem to find a pattern for one. Just wondering if someone on here could help me.I met a lady at the fabric store that was making them, & she told me to go on the internet, but I can't seem to find any.

one looks like a rectangle with a strip sewn on 3 sides and the ends of the strip sewn to the short end of the rectangle

it is my understanding that unless you are Cree you won't find a pattern. My Blackfoot friend says they do not use patterns perse but willgo with standard sizes of the "skins" traditionally used to make the bag.

That's what I've been thinking, but I don't want to make any to sell, would just like to make one for curiossity sake. I think they're so neat. I don't want to use skins , just fabric. Thanks Jacquie

Yes...like bannok...we use visuals...it's handed down through teaching with stories...our moccosins are also cut by memory and visuals. All is handed down by our Kokum's and mothers. I hope you find what your looking for.
