I've made them non-stop for years. A scrappy 4 patch is fine. Bright colors are good for either boy or girl. There are plenty of little kid's prints. Babies love the bright ones. Moms love them all. They are great fun to make.

The other day, I was looking for patterns that use a single charm pack, and found this one. I haven't made it yet, but hopefully soon.

You could also sew a charm pack together (42 squares, making a 6x7 grid), then add a border or two to make it large enough.

Does anyone happen to know of more baby/toddler quilts that can be made with a single charm pack?

I just did a really quick one by using a panel, put a small border on it and done Quilted it, sewed binding on and that's it. Have made it in the past when time was of the essence

Any shade of Violet or gold, with gray seems to be the newest color for babie’s room

I love love love Maryquilts.com quick strippie. It is great with a cute novelty fabric and a couple of contrasts. I am considering piecing it on the frame with a quick turn if I want to add borders.

She has alot of other great free patterns. This is the quickest..but does not Look quick!

This is my favorite go-to quick baby quilt. It is quilt as you go so when you are finished sewing all you have to do is add the binding. Very easy pattern.

Second the Strippy pattern at Marysquilts.com. I've used this more than once, always turns out cute.
Also the "Five and Dime" free pattern by Amy Smart.
