When I was in a guild that did donation quilts we found that we usually had many more girl quilts donated than boy appropriate ones, so I would like to suggest that making it appropriate for either sex would be much appreciated by the recipients. Your quilt could be the main bright spot in the nursery. Thanks for offering to do this!

Baby quilts don't get any easier or faster than this:

Super easy peasy quilt

This particular one could be boy or girl.

I also love 'checker board' quilts, and have used panels for baby quilts.
