Baby Quilt Ideas
#1
While at the Hershey Quilt Show I picked up a FQ pack of baby fabric, it was just too cute to pass up and with several nieces and nephews in their late 20's and early 30's I thought it just might come in handy---someday soon.
My sis called to say her son and their wife are expecting! It will be their first and at age 35 they are really thrilled. As am I for them. That's when I had my first too.
What is your favorite pattern to use for making a baby quilt?
Thanks!

I often use the "Downey" pattern that they distribute for children's quilts. It's simple and quick and always looks good. It's a 8 1/2" square of focus fabric alternated with a four patch using the colours from your main fabric. Add a couple of borders and you're done or even stitch it without a border. Five squares across and seven rows makes a quilt 40" X 56" before borders or four across and six rows down makes a centre 32" X 48" and then I add a 1" narrow border followed by 5" border to make a quilt 44" X 60" or whatever you choose. I'm not a fan of tiny baby quilts.
