    Default Baby quilt with knots

Do you think this kind of baby quilt with knots instead of quilting could be dangerous? Thinking about the baby ‘eating’ or ‘chewing’ the cotton thread.

    Thank you for your opinion!

I would tack each knot and cut real short or take out knots and tack with sewing machine......

Back in the day, all they ever did was tie quilts with yarn. That way they could take them apart and wash the batting they used.
I still tie some of my baby quilts, I think the key is tieing a square knot.

Of course, back in the day they let us ride our bikes without helmets too! I think you if you tack them as suggested above you (and the baby) will be just fine. I have tied with a surgeons knot also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeaIyAyg_cs

Could you tell me what do you mean by 'bar-tacking'?
    Thank you!

I had many tacked quilts for my kids when little...If the knots are well done, there is no problem
