If you go with the rattan (kind of deep gold) and green, your accent colour would fall in the magenta range, using the "balance the colour wheel" strategy....some inspiration photos attached. I would go easy on the magenta hits to make the quilt more unisex.

For some reasonably simple patterns and inspirations, check out the baby quilt board I have on Pinterest:

I really like baby quilts that have a lot of white in the background, and that would give the quilt a boho feels as well:

A fellow shopper was buying cactus fabric for a baby quilt because it’s what the mom-to-be requested. We agreed babies & cactus doesn’t seem to go together !!

Tranum, I have to agree, cactus prints and babies don't seem natural together : )

While we are on this, I am going to climb up on my soapbox and say how very much I loathe the typical run of "kid prints" that feature loud colours, loud cartoonish characters and animals, or on the other end of the spectrum, sugar-coated pink and purple kittens and fairies.

I figure kids and babies deserve great colour and design in their lives too!

Babies need lots of little quilts, and not just for the bed. There needs to be one in the car, one for grandma's house and/or daycare, and several to lay on the floor for "tummy time" and playing. You don't necessarily have to stay within the green/rattan mid-century/boho parameters in order to make a cute quilt the mom will love using.

I have been saving my favorite designs on my Pinterest page. Look here and I'm sure you will get some great ideas.

You could use the colors of choice by the parents and make a pattern of your choice

Here is what I decided on. It is finished and I quit worrying about decor, etc. I like it and the fabric all came from my stash which is a plus for me.

Maybe we could swap making quilts (just jesting). I love bright colors and my grandson and his wife are expecting their 2nd baby next month. She has their whole house done in white and gray and she only wears black or white. She picked a rainbow pattern for the quilt and then all of the colors she chose are shades of very pale pastels. It will be a real challenge for me.

Great job. I know they will appreciate all of the work you put into this quilt.

It turned out lovely! Well done. I agree, use what is on hand.
