Brilliant Idea!! Chances are you are going to end up with holes if you try to rip the machine embroidery.
I've had this happen to me with machine embroidery but never after so far in the process. So I always do the fabric tack down stitch (the one before the satin stitch just before you trim the fabric) three times, then trim and proceed. Just makes me feel safer. Good luck...I think the bonnet is a great idea.

I agree with so many of these ladies. I love the idea of the Easter bonnet.

    Hat/apron sound like great ideas.
You might also consider using some of that yarn that's kind of shredded looking (or something like the old "eye-lash" fabric) and give the duck feathers. That would give the baby something to play with!

Let us know what you end up doing.

Oh, I used a tea towel to give the duck a fuzzy look. This is my first time doing it with that type material. I won't be doing that again.
    Thanks again.
As a fellow machine embroiderer, I agree with your solution and I was going to post this suggestion of enlarging the applique and resewing over the spot of the existing one. I love to use thicker flannels for the fuzzy effect. I also double stitch the fabric tack down step.

Good Luck, It is an adorable project!!

Put a bow on the duck and applique it down after using Fray check on the existing duck, so it will not unravel even further.
