Boy what a pain.I turn off the machine for the night, turn it back on the next morning.I have to move the needle to the center.I wonder why they set the machine so the needles is on the leftside not the center.I have broken 2 or 3 needles because i forget to move the needle over to the middle.Connie in CO

There generally is a way to program it. Check your manual....it must be in there somewhere. Only the cheapest machines don't have the setting options. It would reference "default startup settings" "default needle position" or similar wording.

I have a BL, you can set it to start center, I'll have to check how. OK, my workbook states: "The needle position can be adjusted for the straight stitches in A1-4, B 00-05, C00-02, 04, 18 and D50. Use the stitch width toggle button to move the dcenter needle position is 4.0 and is shown with a shadowed background.
I usually have mine in A, B, or C mode for a quilting foot, on, which starts on center.
