    Good luck with it.
I agree with another poster who suggested that white would be too stark. How about a neutral such as cream or beige. The yellow and green would look nice with these. Love the design.

I made a 3x3 block set up of the design in PhotoShop and put in some of the background colors you suggested. Here's what I got.

    White:

    Cream:

    Pale Yellow:

    Light Grey:

    Dark Grey:

    Black:

    Green and Yellow:

I really didn't think the yellow and green would actually look good and thought it would make one ugly quilt, but now that I've seen it in those colors it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be. I'm deciding between that and white.

being from wisconsin myself, i vote for greens - lights and darks, for the stars and yellows for the background. i do not use whites on most of my quilts for the background, and i like the look. plus, it would look really great with the packer colors only.

I prefer the 1st one the white, as my 1st choice and the last one the Green and Yellow as my 2nd choice and if I had to pick another I would pick the black as the 3rd choice it tends to make the yellow and green really pop.

I too am a Packer backer. I lived in GB for almost 20 years and my grown kids still do.

For a Packer backer your last design is the ONLY one that would do! It has "true colors" and isn't diluted.

    Go Packers,

Try a light green for the yellow block background, then use light green on the yellow block background. That would tone it down a little if the 'stars' are bright green/yellow.

The throwback uniforms included both navy and tan. Maybe one of these colors to tie the current uniform in with the throwback version? This is a wonderful thing you are doing, btw.

Okay, I've decided. I'm going with the green and yellow background. I'm thinking batiks or marble/watercolor fabrics.
