I am making a quilt with 30's prints right now, and used pale yellow for the background fabric. My DH looked at it and said "Baby quilt?" Ack! I didn't mean it to be a baby quilt, but it sure has that look. Now I can't get away from that idea. I believe a white or ivory background would have been a better choice. Or dark, but I was going for a light, airy look.
