Not sure what you mean. But on some of my quilts, I leave approx 2-2 1/2 inches over the quilt edge of the backing, fold the edge of the backing and use it as the binding when I am blending the backing with the front, and times I use the binding I made if I want to accent the quilt. Either way works.
