    I use sheets very often. They work exactly the same, and depending on the quilt size they're cheaper.

    Joann Fabrics has 108" wide fabric for backing. Not a huge selection but it is 12.99/yd and with 40% coupon you pay 7.80/yd. Good deal

    I piece all my backing. I like different colors or prints mixed on the backing. Wide backing is a waste of money to me if it is not on clearance.

    I think Hancock's in Paducah has a good selection. Sometimes you can find them on sale.
