Sloan, where do you work and do they have a web site. My LQS has 3 or 4 pieces of wide backing and they are all ugly, dark colors. They are also in the $10 and up range. Thanks.

I check out this store and the fabric looks really nice and there is a really good selection with good price. I saw some there that I already have and so I know that it must be good material.[/quote]

so how many yards of the wide fabric would u need for a queen size quilt?

Hancock's of Paduca has a lovely selection of backing fabrics. Joann's has a limited selection. The fabric is 108" wide.

I have used Marshalls Dry Goods and got backing fabric really inexpensively.

Missysgottohelp, where in NE are you? There is a shop in Pawnee City that has a very wide selection of backings - and she will work with you if you call (Heavenly Treasures) Or if you are closer to the middle of the state, there is Quilter's Cottage in Kearney. She usually has a wide selection of backings.

I just checked this site out OMG I love it. But can someone help me figure out how much I would need.

The quilt is 90" x 90". Would I need just 3 yards? Trying to figure out how much backing and batting I need is really hard for me to figure out and I do not know why.

Thought I would put cream color on the back since I sent them cream color sheets for the bed for Christmas. Thanks for your help.
This summer I found some very pretty tone on tone print in a light beige as Walmart. Regular weave, not muslin. I've forgotten the price, but it wasn't bad at all. A heck of a lot cheaper than a king sized sheet
