Default Backing on tee shirts for a quilt

I am working on a tee shirt and am wondering if it is ok to add another piece of
    backing to some that
is already ironed on the back of the tee shirt. Will that cause a problem later when machine quilting?

Marybelle, I do not understand your question. Please give more information. I have quilted many t-shirt quilts and the backing for them is done the same way backing is done for any quilt.

Oh, do you mean the stabilizer? I think one layer of stabilizer should be sufficient, but would definitely stay stitch or serge all around the block edges before handling the blocks to make the top.

Do you have backing on the t-shirts now, if so that is enough, if you add more will be hard to machine quilt. Is that what you meant? I got backing from goosetracks.com she does nothing but t-shirt quilts

there are a lot of variables... i would try a test piece to see if it works for your machine. Welcome to the QB

I think she means adding more fusible interfacing to the cut-out piece of the t shirt fabric?

It may be a little stiffer, but as long as it's a sheer-weight, it should be OK...
