I had made a quilt for my husband with all the things he enjoyed. His favorite nephew, Jake, loved that quilt. After my husband passed, I UPS sent this and another quilt to my niece as she lived in a secluded house and the porch cannot be seen from the street. One quilt made it, but my nephew's quilt got stolen. (Next time I'll be careful to send it more securely.) It is irreplaceable. So, I decided to make a quilt of my husband's shirts for Jake. The shirts are cotton and some are poly cotton. A lot of the shirts are quite thin as he'd get too warm.

In order to make the thin fabric into a quilt, I'd like to back it with something that would wear better and not be so flimsy. Seems like there must be an iron on backing out there that would work for this and not add bulk, but I don't have anything in my stash. Does anyone know of something that I might be able to use for this?

Shape Flex light is what I'm using for the memory quilts I've made. It's a woven fusible interfacing by Pellon.

So sorry about the lost quilt. I hold my breath everytime I send one out. Sounds like the Shape Flex light would be the way to go on the shirt quilt.

Thanks! I'll give Shape Flex a try.

Probably insuring it might help make the the delivery people more caucus too.
