Bird Brain Designs is where I ordered them. It is a little expensive stuff, but does the trick for the needles.

I was looking at you ball man pin cushion (again) & just adore him. I was wondering if pins will actually go thru a soft ball & if not can a racket ball be substituted. I LOVE him and want to make one for a few friends for Christmas if I may borrow your idea.

Another version of "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade."

Maybe I should make a few as we always find small balls in our backyard and can't find out where they come from.

The softball part is not the pin cusion, it is the feet and hat that are. If you used a different ball, would work or make yourself a ball. My goofs are now pincushions which I stuffed with all my cut-away scraps. They look like balls and work as another type of pin cusion.
