I have a pattern on my "to do" list that came from a Country Crafts?? magazine circa 1997 that shows a basket quilt with the baskets made of bandana fabrics and the appliqué tulips also made using the bandana fabric.

How many bandanas did you use in this quilt?

This might be the technique that Maggie_Sue used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gKvdrexKE4

I think a traditional Cathedral Window method would be too thick with denim, but this method should work (and it's a heck of a lot easier!).
