another question for those bargello quilters. How do you quilt a king size quilt. I did my wave pattern by stippling it. What a job it was a queen size one. Here is another bargello quilt same pattern by another quilter friend of mine, hers came out different then mine. So the instructions were not that clear

i've done several bargello quilts - both simple and more intricate. My suggestions would be to be aware of how small your pieces will end up, and choose fabric that doesn't have too large a print.I 've found that prints that 'read' plain, or close to it, work well. Also, I find that mixing prints and plain fabric makes the plains stand out like a sore thumb. Most any color choice works, as long as you like it!

Enjoy hearing about all of your experiences with bargello quilts. I have "The Bargello Quilt Book" by Piecemakers. They have a mini-bargello quilt that I am going to try first. It measures 27" x 35". Hopefully I can try this first before attempting a large quilt.

    Hello dry,
Pick a focial print in colors you like.
Then pick an odd # of cordinates. At the end you may not even want the first focial fab you chose....
An uneven number is much more pleasing the the eye.
Anothere thing some do is from light to dark and I as Billy
Lauder feel that breaking it up is more interesting... Just lay it out a couple of ways before sewing together... they are great fun to make... Happy quilting.
