I use a spray that is especially for embroidery. In a pinch when I've run out, I have used quilt basting spray and it was fine. Wouldn't use it all the time simply because of the price, the spray for embroidery is half the price of quilt basting spray.

    :)

I don't really spray right next to my machines...have a box top big enough to put hoop inside and spray....clean the needle once in a while...should be fine

You are talking about 2 different types of spray. For basting quilts, you want a temporary basting spray designed for quilts, like 505 brand :D:D:D

The other is used for embroidery applications :D:D:D
