Since it's an adhesive, my bet is that heat would loosen the gunk. Warm it up with a hair dryer and see if you can peel it off. That's how I remove adhesive labels. Heat softens adhesives.

Try Goo Gone, it removes glues

I was just found it at a craft store that isn't a chain here, it is quite a drive so this spray cost me quite a bit. Hope it is worth it.

While I was driving home I was thinking how sad it is that I live in a rather large city in SO CA and because of the economy we have lost a lot of our quilt shops. We have had at least 1 JoAnns close. The only Hancock fabric closed last year and at the same time all our Walmarts stopped selling fabric. I now have a choice of 2 Joanns (one regular and one Super store) and this craft shop that is a bit of a drive and one discount fabric store that is a God's Send but of course it is always crowded. Bus loads of quilters show up, literaly. I know I am lucky to have what I have, but darn I miss the "good old days".

Where in So Cal are you? Where I am we have lost a couple stores as well, but I still have lots to choose from within a 20 drive, I think I still have 7 places I can get to in 20 min or less.

    Hi Gayle,

I am in Lakewood, which is near Long Beach. I have a medical problem that I am not supposed to drive more than 10 miles at a time. I think you are near San Deigo right?

I am north of you. Just north of Thousand Oaks, off the 101. Oxnard and Ventura are right next to us to the north. Not being able to drive far does make it difficult to get around. I was born in Torrance, many years ago, lived in San Pedro as a child than folks moved us to Mission Viejo, in Orange County. They are still there, it is 100 miles from my driveway to my parents driveway. With Los Angeles being in between.

I know there are (were) some wonderful quilt shops up near you. One year my husband and I went to all the quilt shops with in driving distance and I loved it.

There used to be a Quilt shop in Cypress, but it closed. Now the closest one is in La Habra. Of my friends I am the only one who quilts.

Have you ever been to M&L fabrics in Anahiem?

Yes, I have been there 3 or 4 times. The first time I spent about $250, I was much better after that. My daughter lives in La Habra Heights, but I don't know the area very well. I have only been to her place once, right after my first visit to M&L and I followed her to her apartment.
