I have pretty much swore off batiks because I hand quilt. I will use them in very small amounts.

I LOVE batiks. When I was visiting my mom in the hospital today, her nurse came in and had on the most beautiful batik scrub jacket. I commented that I am a quilter, and that I REALLY liked her batik jacket. She thanked me, then looked down and noticed that the jacket had a tear at the corner of the pocket, then said if she loses the pocket by Friday, she'll give me the jacket for the fabric. Cool, hunh??

Oooh the one you found is beautiful! I haven't used batiks much 'cause they often cost more and are on sale less than other quilting fabrics. But I joined the batik block exchange recently and now I think I'm hooked! Beware. Once you buy one, you'll want more.

Why is it hard to hand quilt with batiks? I hand quilt and just finished a bargello in batiks. Please give me a clue. I noticed two people said no to batik for hand quilting

I think they are pretty, but they smell funny when you iron them.
