Default Batiks pattern???

    Hello everyone,

I have been blessed with a gorgeous collection of batiks. All colors & designs. Lights/ dark and everything in between. However I want to find 'just the right' pattern. One that showcases the batiks best.

So, what is your favorite pattern to use with batiks? If possible please send a link to the pattern or atleast a pic of it as I don't know the names of many quilt patterns. This would be a huge help to me.

    Thanks for the help!
    Have a happy quilting weekend.

Google "Junk to Jems" quilt pattern. It's gorgeous in batiks of all colors and values.

One I liked was "island chain". Really nicely shows off lots of variety.

    Free download from McCalls Quilting.

Sorry! Looked back at google results and the mccalls quilting one is daisy chain not island chain.
Island chain is a pattern available from connecting threads as well as other sources.

Check out my thread "batik anxiety" from week or so ago. Several really nice patterns and other recommendations for batiks. Just today received Kim Brackett's book, Scrap Sensations which includes "Island Chain" that mom 6 mentioned. I also got 'Skip the Borders" by Jaybird Quilts, it has several patterns that would work well with batiks. I am still trying to decide on a pattern. Best of luck with your project.

    How about something like this??

It's called 'Dreaming' from Laundry Basket quilts. If you study it, you'll see it's a variation on the Goose in the Pond quilt block.

Their version is beautiful, don't you think??

Congrats on your batik collection haul!

An easier one is this lattice quilt that romille made (scroll down page to see the black-and-batik top):

Edit: I also advise Googling "batik quilt". Click on "images" to view photos of a wide variety batik quilts. You can typically find out more about a quilt by clicking on the photo, which will bring up a website for it. Here is a link to a search I just did this way:
