    Fairfield offers a few different battings, no idea which one you chose, but, from what I've had many are low- loft. They are popular in the hand- quilting circles.maybe not so favored by long arm quilters.they tend to separate easily when loaded on the frame. For quilting on a domestic machine they might be better since your sandwich is all together and basted, like when hand quilted.

    The only Fairfield batting I've used was bamboo/cotton blend. It quilted up nicely on my domestic machine, and drapes beautifully. It is about the same thickness as Warm and Natural all cotton, but doesn't weigh as much.
