Could anyone tell me what kind of batting I should use in making pot holders and placemats? Thanks.

There is a product called "Insul-Bright" by the Warm Company. You treat it like regular batting, but it has a layer of reflective mylar to protect you from heat. It is sold by the yard, or in packages. Regular batting is fine for placemats, but do not use one that is thick. I use a 80%cotton/20%poly blend by Hobbs.
