Try the 80/20 that Marshall's carries. It feels and behaves just like W&N but is lighter, due to the 20% poly in it. Super easy to quilt. The last time I bought some (a year ago) the roll was $130 or so.

Walmart is always my go-to for all purpose batting 80/20 generous queen size is $19. I've never priced bulk batting in rolls or bolts. I do remember it being 15 at Walmart just over a year ago. My 'sticker shock' happened today when we got a notice from our electricity supplier of a 40% increase going into effect today. But those of us that lived through the 70's and 80's are pros at handling this inflation thing. My first mortgage was 12.5%. Hah!

battingsupersale.com is where I purchase my batting. They have Hobbs, Quilters Dream and a Stitch in Time. There price usually includes shipping. I think they are great. They are located in either Kansas City or Overland Park Kansas.

Some of you have mentioned battingsupersale.com. I had never heard of them, so went to check them out. I am interested in a queen roll of Quilter's Dream Request. They list the MSRP on this roll as $415.95. Then I checked out quiltbatting.com and the very same batting, same size, is listed as having a MSRP of $319.95. Given the rise in prices of everything, I'm wondering if perhaps the second website hasn't updated in a while? I can't understand the difference in MSRP listed. Has anyone had experience with quiltbatting.com?

I recently ordered a 40 yard roll from JA of warm and natural batting on sale $249 with free shipping. It did not arrive in a box, but rather wrapped in clear plastic. It was left leaning against the fencing by the entrance gate. Glad there are no porch pirates way out here! On a side note, the prices have encouraged me to piece together more batting scraps which I discovered works just fine!

Be careful to check the "shopping cart" for the actual price. I found this problem with Walmart online orders. I suspect things are going up so quickly that they can't keep up with their website updates..

After I posted yesterday, I did go to Amazon and found the large rolls. I am trying to be wise about spending $300 on just batting. That is a big chunk out of my quilting "budget"! But then.............I need it. Must make quilts to use up the stash.

Reading all these comments makes me glad I sew with a true bargain hunter. I thought she was crazy when she bought 4 rolls of batting about 12 - 18 months ago.

For me it was eggs. 1 week it was $2.78 for 18 and the next week it was over $4.00. It's becoming insane.

I am so glad I read this thread last night. I usually order batting from JoAnn fabrics, I checked this morning. Their Pellon batting by the roll, with coupons and cheap shipping, $123.00. 90 inches wide x30 yards Prices are going up everywhere and on everything, so gotta grab deals to keep sewing.
